📝 Score Better: Ray Diagram Drawing Tips
Simple tricks to help you score full marks in ray diagram questions!
Use a sharp pencil and ruler for clear, straight rays. Avoid free-hand arrows!
Always draw the principal axis first label it clearly and mark the optical center.
Start with standard rays: parallel to axis, through focus, or through center of curvature.
Show arrowheads on each ray to indicate direction of light.
Clearly label: object (O), image (I), focus (F), center (C), and mirror or lens.
Use dashed lines for virtual rays or back-tracing never solid lines.
Practice at least 3 types of ray diagrams before exams: plane mirror, convex mirror, concave mirror.
